At thirty-two, Broadway star Leigh Kendall has a dazzling career and is engaged to be married. She never imagined that anyone would want to hurt her. But driving home one night, her car is forced off the road and plunges into a river. As she sinks to the murky depths, Leigh can only question who would do this to her...And when she drifts back to consciousness, she finds herself in a stone-cold medieval setting -- in which she plays the role of a lady locked in a power struggle with a notoriously cruel British warlord.

As she struggles to make sense of this all-too-real landscape, Leigh begins to understand that something terrible has happened to her, in the here and now. Attempting to string together clues to where -- and who -- she is, Leigh discovers she has actually set out on the most suspenseful and compelling mystery of all: solving her own murder.

Filled with shattering twists and powerful emotion, Water's Edge is a triumph of imagination from one of today's most beloved storytellers.
